UNITED WAY HOSTS 2013 CAMPAIGN KICKOFF

United Way entertained almost 600 guests on August 26 at the 2013 Campaign Kickoff.  Hosted at Bell Auditorium, the Kickoff was presented through the generosity of Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, American Family Insurance, Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Georgia Power, and University Health Care System.  Jennie Montgomery and Brad Means of WJBF News Channel 6 presided over the event.

This year’s themed event was revealed as “United Way Derby Day” with guests being encouraged to strive for the “Triple Crown”.  The winner will be announced in February 2014 at United Way’s Annual Meeting.  Winners of the “Triple Crown” must win in three categories:  best model campaign, highest percentage of increase in per capita giving, and greatest percentage of increase in employee participation.
