Publix Super Markets Named “Triple Crown” Award Winner!
United Way’s “Triple Crown Award” was presented to Publix Super Markets at the 2014 Annual Meeting on February 25, 2014, at the Augusta Marriott Hotel at the Convention Center.
In honor of the “Derby Day” theme at the 2013 Kickoff, United Way introduced a special competition to award a special “United Way Triple Crown” to a company with the best model campaign, high employee per capita giving, and high participation in the 2013 Campaign. Throughout the campaign, it was exciting watching so many companies work hard to achieve this award.
George Jenkins founded Publix with the spirit of giving in mind and that giving spirit can be seen throughout each year. Not only do their associates donate to the campaign, but they participate in all aspects of running a model campaign. From attending ECM workshops, to touring agencies, to having United Way and Agency speakers attend their employee meetings, Publix employees are committed to their communities. And once you have those pieces of the Triple Crown in place, they can’t help but succeed.
Publix strives to be number one in their communities every day…not only as a business, but as Responsible Citizens involved in their communities. Congratulations to Publix Super Markets and their generous employees.!
