Dr. Andrew Allgood Named 2016 Alvin W. Vogtle Volunteer of the Year
Dr. Andrew Allgood was named the Alvin W. Vogtle “Volunteer of the Year” for 2016 at United Way’s Annual Meeting on February 21, 2017, at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center. Dr. Allgood was nominated by Hope House, but he is well known throughout the area for his outstanding volunteer service to numerous organizations.
For many years, Dr. Allgood has been a true asset to Hope House. He has been a faithful volunteer, donor, and an advocate for all the families as well as the mission. Through the “Smiles for Hope” campaign, he and his staff have conducted a third-party fundraiser each year that has consistently raised over $6,000 annually, benefiting the women and children in treatment at Hope House.
Additionally, through his dental practice, he contributes throughout the holiday season by sponsoring families each year and purchasing children’s Christmas wish list items. He and his generous staff are always eager and willing to go the extra mile in support of the programs and services at Hope House.
Dr. Allgood and his staff are also extremely active and successful with raising funds and supplies. Through his dental practice, he coordinates on-going canned food drives throughout the year that benefit Golden Harvest Food Bank, in addition to raising community awareness for the organization.
Dr. Allgood is actively involved in many civic, service, and professional organizations that help to raise funds, resources, and awareness for programs and nonprofits throughout the CSRA.
