Are You Ready for Some Football?

Hope you were able to join United Way for the 2010 Campaign Kickoff on Monday, August 20, 2010 at Bell Auditorium.  It was a fun event with the CSRA Cobras Football players, drum music performed by the Lucy Laney Wildcats Drum Line, Dancers/Cheerleaders from Augusta West Performing Company, Palmetto GBA Cheerleaders, and the 2010 Loaned Professionals.  Zack Daffin, Vice-Chair of Campaign and United Way's Quarterback announced the $4.2 million goal for the 2010 campaign, and "Wiley the Wildcat", United Way's mascot, was on hand to entertain the crowd.  Click here for photos from event.

7TH ANNUAL FILM & FOOD FOR A CAUSE!

On Sunday, September 19, 2010 United Way of the CSRA, along with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Augusta and the American Red Cross of Augusta, will once again partner with Georgia Theatre Company for the 7th Annual Film & Food for a Cause event.  Last year was the first time the Augusta market was involved in this event.  It raised over $18,000 for the three agencies in 2009.   Advanced tickets are on sale now until Thursday, September 9, at each agency and from then until Saturday, September 18, at both theatres; Evans Stadium Cinemas in Evans, Georgia and Masters Value Cinemas in Augusta, Georgia.  Advanced tickets are $10 for Evans and $5 for Masters.  Advanced ticket prices for both theatres include admission to the movie of your choice that day, small popcorn, and a small soda.  Georgia Theatre Company will donate all proceeds from the day (advanced ticket sales, regular day-of ticket sales, all concession purchases for the day, and will also include a fishbowl for additional donations at each theatre) to United Way, Boys & Girls Clubs, and the Red Cross.  To purchase an advanced ticket for either theatre, please call United Way at 706-724-5544.  Click here to view event flier.

Second Annual Stuff the Bus Event Success! 

Thank you to everyone who came out to help us STUFF THE BUS!  We were able to double the amount of school supplies raised, with total donations over $8,600 to help at-risk students in the CSRA.  For photos from this year’s event, click here.
