Your dollars donated to United Way will provide the following services for a person in need in our community:
$5 will:
- Provide toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc. for a disaster victim for one month.
- Provide a special needs child in the public school system with a full day of outdoor programs during special needs fun days at Camp Linwood Hayne.
- Provide one week's counseling session for a single mother earning minimum wage and her eight-year old daughter.
- Provide overnight rental of the tree house unit at Camp Cofitachiqui for a troop of Girl Scouts.
- Provide a hot meal for a week for a girl at Girls Incorporated.
- Provide a hot meal for two residents at the Salvation Army.
- Provide five donor hearing aids for five different hearing impaired individuals.
$10 will:
- Provide disaster training material for five volunteers at the American Red Cross.
- Provide two days of transportation for a client in a wheelchair at the Augusta Training Shop.
- Provide membership dues for a child in the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts for a 12 month period.
- Provide a 10-hour day at Summer Camp to a needy girl.
- Provide a change of clothes for two victims of sexual assault seen in the ER for forensic evidence examinations.
- Provide school supplies for one child for one year.
- Provide shelter and breakfast for one transient at the Salvation Army.
$15 will:
- Provide 100 HIV/AIDS educational brochures
- Provide a month of therapy for a family at the Family Counseling Center.
- Provide a volleyball for the Girl Scouts' volleyball court at Camp Tanglewood.
- Provide science experiment supplies for three girls for a month at Girls Incorporated.
- Provide gas cards for a client at Safe Homes to job seek for a week.
- Provide an evening meal for six transients at the Salvation Army.
- Provide three donor hearing aids for clients at the Speech and Hearing Center.
$20 will:
- Provide food for a displaced family of four for a day at Safe Homes or the Red Cross.
- Provide a new Boy Scout with his handbook, first rank patch, Boy's Life magazine subscription, registration fees, and accident insurance fees.
- Provide therapy for a month for a family at the Family Counseling Center.
- Provide structured after-school programming for a girl for a week at Girls Incorporated.
- Provide one hour of professional counseling for a rape/sexual assault victim.
- Provide two weeks of bus tickets for a shelter client at Safe Homes.
- Provide an evening meal for eight transients at the Salvation Army.
- Provide three speech therapy sessions or four hearing aids for a client at the Speech & Hearing Center.
