Terrence is a single dad with two young children. Because Terrence works all day, he couldn’t take care of his children after school and pre-school, and he had no family to turn to for help. He needed someone who could look after his children in the afternoons until he got off work.
Terrence called the 2-1-1 call center, and the operator referred him to an agency where his children could participate in an after-school program. There they receive help with their homework, participate in activities, are fed, and play and interact with other children.
Through the 2-1-1 call center and a United Way funded program, Terrence found the solution to his problem.
