Georgia Theatre Company recently announced the results of their 12th Annual Cinema for a Cause event held on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at twenty-four of their theatre locations throughout Georgia, including three locations in Florida, South Carolina, and Virginia.
100% of all admission tickets, concession purchases, and extra donation bowl money on Sunday, September 13 went to the event total to be donated to local charity groups chosen by each theatre staff in their markets.
This year’s event raised over $208,800 and to date this unique one day event has allowed Georgia Theatre Company to donate over $1,184,200 to local charity groups over the past twelve years.
Participating theatres in the Evans/Augusta area included Evans Stadium Cinemas and Masters Value Cinemas. Recipient charity groups for this market this year were United Way of CSRA, American Red Cross of Augusta, and Boys & Girls Clubs of the CSRA, with each group receiving one-third of proceeds ($5639) from event day which totaled $16,919.85.
