For many people, philanthropic giving is a lifelong commitment that provides both personal and financial benefits. Through United Way of the CSRA’s planned giving program, you can create a plan that benefits you and your family today, while ensuring vital human care programs are available for generations to come.

What  Is a Planned Gift?

A charitable planned gift is the result of careful and thoughtful structuring of one’s asset management plan to benefit a charitable organization. Such a gift is commonly asset based rather than from income and often involves a planning process utilizing the services of third-party professionals; i.e., estate and tax planning attorneys. Planned gifts are usually irrevocable and afford the donor important tax benefits

What  Is A Memorial/Honor Gift?

Gifts may be given as a lasting tribute in honor of or in memory of a friend, colleague or loved one. An acknowledgement of each gift is sent to the person or family of the person in whose name the gift is made. No amount is mentioned. You, as the contributor, will receive a separate acknowledgement indicating the amount of your gift as your receipt. Memorial and Honor gifts will be placed in the United Way Community Investment Fund  in order to meet the continued health and human service needs in the CSRA.

If you would like to make a planned gift or commemorative gift, please complete the form below or print a copy , complete it, and return it to United Way.

Benefits of Giving

Your gift is a sound investment benefiting you and your family today, and will serve those in need in our community in the future. Although most individuals do not make contributions to United Way for tax related reasons, you may find that you and your family will significantly benefit from laws governing charitable contributions, especially as they relate to estate and qualified retirement plan taxes.
