See how it works. Trained volunteers protect donor investment.
United Way of the CSRA Citizens Review panels are composed entirely of community volunteers and are responsible for visiting United Way's partner agencies annually to review the funded programs and services as well as make funding recommendations bi-yearly in our Community Investment Process. These panels are vital in maintaining United Way agency credibility and accountability to the community while ensuring the community outcomes are being effectively evaluated.

AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) members bring their passion and perseverance where the need is greatest: to organizations that help eradicate poverty. The most pressing challenges we face as a nation, and in the CSRA area, require the most courageous and creative people to address them. An AmeriCorps VISTA member serves as a catalyst for change, living and working alongside local community members to advance local solutions...right here in the CSRA.
VISTA members apply to serve full-time for at least one year with United Way of the CSRA and our extended partners, in order to work towards curbing child illiteracy, improving health services for all ages, creating new community initiatives, facilitating health and career fairs, strengthening current community partnerships, engaging our community, and much more.
Our members work with such partners as the Augusta-Richmond County Library, City of Augusta, CSRA EOA, Toys for Tots, Wellcare, Caresource, Amerigroup Insurance, Augusta Technical College, multiple churches, schools, and businesses throughout the CSRA in order to educate our residents about resources available that can help build stronger communities.

Our AmeriCorps VISTAs work to identify and alleviate hurdles that students and parents face as it relates to poverty. United Way of the CSRA currently has 8 AmeriCorps VISTA members serving our community. Together we help locate and organize resources in some of the most impoverished communities and schools in the CSRA so our children, and parents, can evolve and become stronger residents. Our VISTAs work to create a better community for us all through their strategic alignment with United Way of the CSRA's focus on education, health, and financial stability.
